Very nice article, thank you. Some mistakes are diminishing the shine on it.<br />
The kiln was build by GTZ, the concept of the potters for peace was dicovered via Internet and than adapted by Michael Klingler GTZ-IWRM Jemen, German taxpayers financed the whole concept starting from the local adapted design for the kiln, continued with the repeated hiring of local and foreign consultants and the continuous testing of the quality of the filtered water to assure a healthy product. All in all it is a success story in which a local potter was supported in his courage to take the risk to follow the business concept of GTZ-IWRM and he is now giving work to tens of people and save water to more than hundredthousand people.....thank you Ali for doing it!

Great story... (and not only because Rich is a friend and former colleague) This appears to be a technology that has great potential as a consumer product, a scaleable business, and that delivers a strong social bottom line. I&#039;d love to learn more about strategies to propogate the business and tech.

Hi, first I&#039;ve heard the news today from the radio NPR,now I&#039;m sitting in front of my computer to see the total news. It&#039;s great and very helpful for the public not only on the cities but most of it for the urban areas. Is it commercially sold here in Saudi Arabia. How I wish to buy one here in Jeddah. Thanks to the potter with out borders.

Can people outside of Yemen purchase these water filters? I work with a few communities in Southern Haiti and water quality is a huge problem there. I spoke about this system, that I heard about on NPR, and our project director in Haiti is very interested. I&#039;ve searched some on the internet but have found no way to purchase these filters. Thank you.
